Lange Nacht der Forschung 24.04.2026

Our group was represented at the event “Lange Nacht der Forschung 2026” by Thomas Böttcher, Micha Becker, Julia Kaltenböck and Thi Hong Nhung Nguyen, who presented their research to a young audience. They were accompanied by Marlis Stenzl (Division of Pharmacognosy) and Írem Ceylan (Division of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics).

The Station of our Team dealt with the theme “Wie natürlich sind eigentlich unsere Medikamente” – “How natural is medication really?”. The first part of the station specified on showing young interested guests the extraction of a natural substance from red cabbage, whilst the second part of our station appealed to older guests, as it was more in depth demonstration of the path from willow bark to salicylic acid and then on to acetylsalicylic acid (the active ingredient in aspirin).

We are glad about the large number of interested visitors that listened to our talks!
