DoSChem “New Ideas” award for Julia

Congratulations to our group member and PhD student Julia Kaltenböck, who was awarded with the July 2026 DoSChem “New Ideas” funding in co-work with Sabrina Schmied.

Their interdisciplinary project “Novel High-Throughput Screening Platform for Quorum Sensing Signal Release Inhibition” combines expertise in microbiology, membrane protein biochemistry and peptide chemistry to develop a novel screening platform for the identification of quorum-sensing inhibitors. By targeting bacterial communication pathways that regulate virulence, the project explores promising new strategies for anti-infective research.

Congratulations to Julia and Sabrina for this great achievement!
